From one cultural titan to another – for the French House’s latest collection, the Men’s Creative Director pays tribute to the work of the late South Korean painter.
A pivotal player in Korean art and figurehead of the Dansaekhwa movement, honouring a legacy of such magnitude could be a tall order, but there’s a natural synergy with Se-Bo and The Maison. He previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton on the ArtyCapucines project in 2022, something which has served as a natural reference for Pharrell’s reflection on his work, alongside a creative exchange with Se-Bo’s estate.
Renowned for deceptively minimal but graphically powerful lines, Pharrell transposes the sensibilities of Se-Bo across ready-to-wear leather goods and shoes. The result is a collection that champions both large-scale and detailed takes on colour, surface decoration and construction, guiding the eye to seek out the savoir-faire intricately woven into every piece.
